About Shannon

Shannon Miller is a two-time Olympic gymnast, earning 7 Olympic medals (2 gold, 2 silver, 3 bronze) and becoming the only female athlete to be inducted into the US Olympic Hall of Fame twice (Individual in 2006 and Team in 2008). She has won 59 international and 49 national medals, with more than half being gold. Shannon also led the “Magnificent Seven” to the US Women’s first-ever team gold in 1996 and became the first American gymnast to win gold on the balance beam.

After retiring from competition, Shannon pursued her education, earning degrees in marketing, entrepreneurship, and law. In 2010, she launched her company to help women prioritize their health and became a highly sought-after motivational speaker, discussing topics like The Gold Medal Mindset, health, and cancer survivorship. In 2011, Shannon was diagnosed with ovarian cancer but successfully completed treatment and has since remained cancer-free.

Shannon Miller competed in two Olympic Games, earning an impressive seven Olympic medals—two gold, two silver, and three bronze. She is the only female athlete to be inducted into the US Olympic Hall of Fame twice: once as an individual in 2006, and again with her team in 2008.

Over the course of her career, Shannon won an astounding 59 international and 49 national competition medals, with more than half of them being gold. She was the first US gymnast to win back-to-back World All-Around Titles, with a total of nine World Championship medals. Her five medals (two silver, three bronze) at the 1992 Olympics were the most won by any US athlete in any sport at those Games. At the 1996 Olympics, she led the "Magnificent Seven" to the US women's first-ever team gold and became the first American gymnast to capture gold on the balance beam.

After retiring from Olympic competition, Shannon earned undergraduate degrees in marketing and entrepreneurship from the University of Houston and a law degree from Boston College. She remains active in the gymnastics and Olympic communities as an analyst and commentator.

In 2010, Shannon launched her own company dedicated to helping women prioritize their health. She is a highly sought-after motivational speaker on topics ranging from the Gold Medal Mindset to cancer survivorship and the importance of health and fitness.

In January 2011, Shannon was diagnosed with a rare form of ovarian cancer. She had a baseball-sized tumor successfully removed and underwent aggressive chemotherapy. Throughout her journey, she has been open about her diagnosis and treatment, using her platform to empower women to prioritize their health. Shannon is now cancer-free and continues to advocate for early detection, awareness, research, and survivorship.

Shannon’s passion lies in encouraging and empowering others to overcome their personal challenges through the Gold Medal Mindset, a mindset that is attainable for everyone.
